Lady Avara is a senior scholar of the Luminous Conclave holding the Scholarium rank of Sage of the Inner Light — and, beyond that public role, the head researcher of the Seraphic Inquisition. Her authority within the Inquisition is derived directly from the Council of Light rather than from her Scholarium position, giving her access to resources and materials that would ordinarily require approval well above her formal rank.
The Lumina Cell has encountered her directly on at least one occasion and is aware of her dual role.
Role
Within the Scholarium of Radiant Truth, Avara operates as a senior scholar with access to the Restricted Archives — a tier available only to the most senior researchers, and one that already places her among the Conclave's most informed individuals. Her Inquisition mandate extends this further: she conducts research in support of Inquisition operations, analyses eldritch phenomena and artefacts recovered by active cells, and provides intelligence assessments that inform mission assignments.
Her Inquisition authority is not formally acknowledged within the Scholarium's structure. In practice it creates persistent friction with Grand Archivist Serelith Voss, who processes Avara's Council-authorised archive requests promptly and correctly — while ensuring every such request is meticulously documented as an institutional irregularity.
Known Interactions with the Lumina Cell
Lady Avara arrived in Lighthaven's treasury alongside Conclave guards following the alarm triggered during the cell's confrontation with Lady Innocencia's infernal servants. Her intervention helped bring the fight to a close. She subsequently informed the cell that Lady Innocencia had stolen the Celestial Lock — her first direct intelligence contribution to the cell's ongoing operations.
