The Celestial Lock is a powerful artefact of unknown origin that was held in the treasury of the Luminous Conclave in Lighthaven before its theft. It has since come into the possession of Lady Innocencia, who used it to devastating effect in Celestia.

Known History

The Celestial Lock was held in Lighthaven's treasury, where its storage implies it was considered significant enough to require the Conclave's direct custodianship. The precise circumstances of its acquisition by the Conclave are not known to the Lumina Cell.

Following her escape from the Sanctum of Purity, Lady Innocencia went directly to the treasury and stole the artefact. She then left infernal servants behind to hold the treasury and cover her departure. The Lumina Cell engaged these servants and drove them back, though Innocencia herself was already gone with the Lock.

Lady Avara informed the cell of the theft shortly after, describing it as a matter of serious concern without disclosing what the artefact does or why Innocencia wanted it.

Use in Celestia

The Celestial Lock was subsequently used by Lady Innocencia in Celestia, where it served as the instrument through which she manipulated the city's ley lines — producing the widespread wild magic anomalies that disrupted the city during the cell's investigation there. The scale and precision of that disruption suggest the artefact operates on a fundamentally large scale, with the capacity to affect the underlying magical infrastructure of a city.
