Illuminated Void

The Illuminated Void is a secretive cult operating across Eryndor, connected to eldritch forces of unknown scope and purpose. The name was first encountered by the Lumina Cell in a ciphered letter recovered in Lythor — the first concrete evidence that the disparate eldritch threats the cell had been investigating belonged to a single, organised entity.

Leadership

The Illuminated Void is led by Lord Erevan Shadowspeaker — a drow of exceptional power who serves as its supreme commander. The cell first learned his name from the decoded Lythor letter, and encountered him in person at the Banquet of Mount Ironcrest, where he appeared openly and attacked Carver. The encounter confirmed that Shadowspeaker is not a distant figurehead but an active, formidable presence — and one currently beyond the cell's ability to confront directly.

The Eldritch Nexus

The cult's apparent purpose is connected to something referred to in their correspondence as the Eldritch Nexus. The full nature of this entity and what the cult intends to do with or for it is not yet known.

The Noctivagor

Also named in the decoded Lythor letter, the Noctivagor is a creature or entity associated with the cult. The cell witnessed it consume Oasis City entirely — an act of destruction on a scale that left no survivors and no explanation beyond the shadow that swallowed the city whole.

Known Operations

Lythor

The cell destroyed the cult's Lythor operation — a cell operating through the Zum Rattenkönig tavern and the Terramite tunnel network beneath the city. The cell's leader, an orc named Kaelen Blackthorn, called upon the Eldritch Nexus for power during the confrontation and was transformed into an abomination before being destroyed. The decoded letter recovered at this site was the cell's first direct evidence of the Illuminated Void's existence and leadership.

Die Schattenschmiede

The cult operates through or alongside the criminal organisation known as Die Schattenschmiede (the Shadow Forge) — a continent-wide criminal network encountered in Lythor. Most people who deal with the Schattenschmiede know it only as a criminal enterprise and have no awareness of its connection to the cult.

The Iron Marshal

At the Banquet of Mount Ironcrest, the Iron Marshal of the Ironclad Citadel publicly declared his alliance with the Illuminated Void. The Citadel's military resources are now openly aligned with the cult's interests.

Lady Innocencia

Lady Innocencia, formerly imprisoned in Lighthaven, was identified by Lord Verramor as an archdevil with infernal allegiances connected to the cult. The nature and extent of her role within the organisation is not fully known.

Scale

The Illuminated Void's reach appears to be continental. The cell's encounters have surfaced connections to criminal networks, infernal powers, the military forces of the Ironclad Citadel, and eldritch operations across multiple regions. The organisation's full scope remains unknown.
