Eryndor is the main continent of the world of Eclaryn. It is a land of stark contrasts — lush plains and ancient forests sit alongside scorched deserts and scarred wastelands. Six major regions divide the continent, each with its own geography, dominant culture, and political structure. The Luminous Conclave holds religious and political influence across much of Eryndor, though not all regions fall under its authority.

Major Regions

The heart of Eryndor — a broad expanse of green plains, gentle forests, and fertile farmland stretching across the continent's centre. The Celestial Plains are the most densely populated region and the seat of the Luminous Conclave's influence. The independent holy city of Lighthaven sits within this region as a sovereign enclave unto itself. The dominant political body is the Celestial Concord.

Major settlements include Celestia, Brightwater, Shadowfen, Starfall, and Moonridge.

A harsh northern region of snow-covered mountain peaks and bitter winds. The Frostpeak Highlands are home to resilient communities that have carved their existence out of the unforgiving terrain. The region is governed by the Frostpeak Confederacy and connected to the Ironclad Citadel region to the east via the Ironspan bridge, which crosses the Grimwater Fjord.

Major settlements include Thundertop, Frostbite, Frostguard, and Fjordwatch Bastion.

A fortified region in the northeast, built around two great snowy peaks. The Ironclad Citadel is the domain of the Ironclad Dominion — a proudly independent military power that has historically resisted the reach of the Luminous Conclave. The region maintains an exclave, Dominion's Edge Keep, within the Verdant Vale to the south.

Major settlements include Ironhold, Steelgate, and Ironcliff — the last of which suffered catastrophic destruction in recent months due to a soul storm of unknown origin. Ironhold has since become crowded with refugees displaced from Ironcliff.

A vast desert region in the south, notable for its state of perpetual twilight — the sun never fully rises or sets here, leaving the land in an eternal amber dusk. The Sunset Desert is home to a number of nomadic peoples as well as several more permanent settlements. It sits largely outside the Luminous Conclave's direct governance.

Major settlements include Lythor and Oasis City — though Oasis City was consumed by a catastrophic shadow event in recent memory and is no longer accessible. Nomadic camps include Dunesend, Sandspire, and Mirage's Rest.

A forested valley region in the east, characterised by ancient woodland and a network of independent city-states with no unified governing body. The Verdant Vale is home to the World Tree, Verdanthael, and maintains a cautious relationship with both the Luminous Conclave and the Ironclad Dominion to the north.

Major settlements include Verdant Star, Greenleaf, Willowbrook, and Seabridge Haven.

A desolate region of volcanic desert and wasteland in the southeast, largely shunned by the wider world. The Luminous Conclave maintains only a minimal presence here. The Wastes are considered deeply inhospitable and dangerous, and few who venture deep into them return unchanged — if they return at all.

Major settlements include Nexus, Mirage's End, and Whisperhaven.

Minor Regions

The Dragonspire Mountains

An extension of the Frostpeak Highlands that juts southward, partially forming a natural barrier between the Celestial Plains and the Verdant Vale. The mountains are named for the ancient draconic presence said to have once called them home.

The Mystic Isles

A scattered archipelago located southeast of the Sunset Desert, home to sages, scholars, and mystics who dedicate their lives to the study of the multiverse and its hidden forces.

Skyreach

A legendary floating city of mages, drifting high above Eryndor's surface. Skyreach maintains only limited contact with the continent below, and outsiders rarely receive invitations.

Political Landscape

Eryndor has no single unified government. The Luminous Conclave comes closest to a continent-wide authority through its religious reach, but several regions — including the Ironclad Dominion, the Verdant Vale city-states, and the nomadic peoples of the Sunset Desert — operate wholly or partially outside its influence. Political tensions between these factions have historically been managed through diplomacy, though the current era has seen those relationships tested in unprecedented ways.
