Current State of the World

This article is updated regularly by the DM to reflect the current state of the world. Last updated: 37th of Harvest's Glow, 587 LE.
The Dark Star
The Dark Star continues its slow ascent toward zenith. Those who watch the sky closely have noted it growing more visible with each passing week — no longer something only mages and astronomers remark upon, but increasingly a topic of hushed conversation among ordinary people. No official explanation has been offered by the Luminous Conclave.
The Celestial Plains
The Celestial Plains remain broadly stable. Lighthaven continues to function as the spiritual and governmental seat of the Luminous Conclave. Celestia has largely recovered from the wild magic anomalies that plagued it in recent months, though the cause of those anomalies has not been publicly disclosed.
Brightwater has returned to normal following the restoration of Deva's Sanctum.
The Ironclad Citadel
The political situation in the Ironclad Citadel remains deeply unsettled following the Banquet of Mount Ironcrest, at which the Iron Marshal publicly announced an alliance with an outside power — the nature of which has not been fully disclosed to the wider world. Ironcliff remains in ruins. Ironhold is overcrowded with refugees. The Citadel's relationship with the Luminous Conclave is, at best, strained.
The Sunset Desert
Oasis City is gone. The city was consumed by a vast shadow event — now understood by those who witnessed it to be the work of The Noctivagor — and is no longer accessible. The wider region is unsettled, and trade routes that once passed through Oasis City have been disrupted. Lythor remains operational but wary.
The Eldritch Wastes
The Eldritch Wastes continue to resist any meaningful documentation or navigation. Recent travellers have reported encounters with refugees fleeing Whisperhaven, as well as at least one petrified caravan — the fate of its members unknown. Conditions within the Wastes are deteriorating.
The Lumina Cell
The Lumina Cell has entered the Eldritch Wastes. Following their return to Lighthaven after the events at Mount Ironcrest, the cell debriefed with both Lady Elira Dawnstar and Sir Althorn Lightbearer. Althorn issued a new assignment: locate and eliminate the Tower Master — a senior figure within the Illuminated Void believed to be operating somewhere within the Wastes.
After two nights in Lighthaven and a three-day journey to the Wastes' border, the cell crossed into the region and made their way through the unmappable terrain. Battered, exhausted, and bearing the first signs of the Wastes' toll, they arrived at the city of Nexus on the evening of the 30th of Harvest's Glow, 587 LE. They have taken rooms at an inn called the Last Rest to recover and gather information before continuing their search.
The cell has spent several days in Nexus, making use of a Warforged medic known to offer treatment for Eldritch Madness — one of the few reliable ways to address the affliction currently known. As of the 37th of Harvest's Glow, the cell has fully recovered from both Madness and Exhaustion accrued during their journey through the Wastes.
Through a local information broker, the cell has learned that the Tower's commander is believed to be Solanth Vrennix, a human archmage expelled from Skyreach decades ago for unsanctioned research into planar boundaries. Cultists moving south through Nexus have been increasing in frequency in recent weeks. Rost has also made contact with a Drow who claims a personal connection to Vaelstrom, and who has warned her that the blade is connected to something powerful.
