Sir Althorn Lightbearer is a senior member of the Council of Light and one of the most respected figures in the Luminous Conclave's upper hierarchy. He oversees the Radiant Host's military portfolio on the Council and serves as the operational head and handler of the Seraphic Inquisition, making him the direct superior of the Lumina Cell.

Appearance

Althorn presents himself with the quiet, settled authority of a man who has held power long enough that it no longer needs to announce itself. His manner is composed and pastoral — warm without being effusive, attentive without being intense. He favours simple, well-maintained robes bearing Seraphel's radiant sun, and is typically seen with his holy symbol prominently displayed. Whether receiving dignitaries in formal chambers or debriefing Inquisition operatives in candlelit rooms, his environment tends to be orderly, serene, and deliberately unhurried.

Character

Althorn is widely regarded within the Conclave as a steady hand — experienced, politically astute, and deeply trusted by Lady Elira Dawnstar. He has served on the Council of Light for longer than most of its current members and commands significant seniority within its hierarchy. His manner with those beneath him is consistently warm and pastoral: he asks after wellbeing before he asks after mission details, and he has a quality of genuine-seeming attentiveness that makes people feel heard.

Colleagues describe him as someone who always seems to have a plan — calm in crises, measured in counsel, and rarely caught off-guard. Lady Elira Dawnstar has been known to say, with a tired smile, that Althorn always has plans.

Role

As the Council of Light's military High Priest, Althorn holds significant authority over the Radiant Host's strategic direction and carries considerable weight in the Auragon Directive Hierarchy by virtue of his Council seniority. In addition to his public portfolio, he oversees the Seraphic Inquisition on the Council's behalf — serving as the sole handler for all Inquisition cells, including the Lumina Cell.

The cell has worked under Althorn's direction since its formation. He assigns their missions, provides resources and intelligence, and serves as their only point of contact with the broader Conclave hierarchy.

Known Interactions with the Lumina Cell

Althorn has met with the Lumina Cell on multiple occasions across the course of their operations — debriefing them after major missions, issuing new assignments, and providing what guidance and resources he can. His most recent meeting with the cell followed their return to Lighthaven after the events at the Banquet of Mount Ironcrest, at which point he assigned them their current mission into the Eldritch Wastes.
